Kit Bos Kit Bos is a cultural organizer, interior designer and textile artist with a global outlook and life experiences as co-creators. She creates spatial textile art with global resonance in the transformation of textile and tradition into a material story about the transformations of life. She is a self-taught textile artist who, after having lived in Central Europe, the Middle East and Southeast Asia, now lives in Denmark, North Jutland. She works primarily with soft natural textiles and has developed a personal artistic language, where the cycle of life - what has been, is now, and will come - is the focal point. Her works arise from the meeting between traditional techniques such as weaving, crochet, knitting and twisting in an experimental approach to textile as form, structure and story. She investigates the transformations of the material and lets surfaces and shapes transform into organic expressions - often with sensual layers of texture, color and movement.
Kit Bos works in a strong and sensual practice, where the works weave both the physical and the metaphorical together in a deeply reflective investigation of life, body and voice. Kit manages to give form to the invisible and voice to the silent when she processes the cycle of life - change, development, growth, dissolution - in an integrated approach where the works point both backwards towards the heritage of textile craftsmanship and forwards towards a new understanding of life and material as co-creative and narrative.
She has participated in exhibitions in Denmark and abroad and is currently working on projects that focus on the meaning of life in her artistic practice, with textile as a medium for reflection, perception and sustainability.
“The material carries a memory. The yarn stretches across time and places - I follow it and see where it leads. It opens up spaces that you don't step into, but sense. Like a shadow of something deeper."
