Åse Eriksen is a textile artist living on the western coast Norway. She has studied at the Norwegian National College of applied art in Bergen and has her own workshop since the early 80's. She has worked for many years with church textiles, both with own works, but also as a consultant for the church. In recent years she has studied ancient textiles that are found in Norway. In this work she collaborate with other textile scholars as their knowledge also bring other perspectives into the studies, and vice versa.
Her weaving techniques lies in the intersection between old and new, between old tools and methods and new knowledge.
